This shopkeepers' insurance section provides cover for equipment such as televisions, video equipment installed in premises, laptops, mobile phones, and electronic diaries against any loss or damage by fire, riots and strikes, theft and accident.


Exclusions

Typically, the policy does not cover the following:

  • Damage caused by cleaning, dyeing, bleaching, restoration, repairs, renovation, wear and tear, moth, vermin, insects, mildew and so on
  • Breakage, cracks or scratches on glass, cameras, binoculars, lenses, instruments and similar articles of brittle or fragile nature, unless caused by fire or accident
  • Loss or damage caused by mechanical or electrical breakdown of any article unless caused by external accidents
Theft from any car except where all of the below mentioned conditions are met:
  • From a car which is a fully enclosed type passenger car
  • Where theft is by forced entry
  • Baggage was stored in the boot, locked and properly fastened
  • You were traveling and not residing at any accommodation at the time of theft
Any loss or damage arising through delay, detention or confiscation by Customs or other authorities
